Sometimes I wish I could stop time. Life revolves around alarms, deadlines and places to be. I stare at the time all day, it decides when I should sleep and wake, head out the door or plan dinner for the evening. It tells me when to act. Sometimes I wish life didn’t depend on time, other times I cherish time for what it brings. Gathering of minds, special moments and joyous holidays. Other times, time moves at a crawl, emotions run wild and you find yourself in a situation you wish you could fast-forward into resolution. In the chaos of it all, you find very little time to heal.
When chaos ensues all around there is no time to heal. Survival takes the forefront and time dissipates before your very eyes. Then there is borrowed time, when you know you should be doing something and you stall. And although time passes by you are made very aware that you are stealing those minutes and wasting them away.
They say that as you grow older you learn to appreciate time more. You no longer stress about wasting it, you cherish every moment. If only we could do that when we are young. We could… yet life in today’s world doesn’t allow for much of it. Sometimes you have to MAKE time in order to spend it.
Time to heal

So very true! I’ll be 60 in a couple of months, and time (at least to me) is more precious than ever before. I never liked watching the clock to tell me when it was time to go home from work. Now that I have grandchildren, time is even more precious. They grow so fast. I’ve realized that time is limited and I need to make the most of it.
